Sekhmet is a Kemetic (Egyptian) goddess. She is connected to the sun, healing, and battle. A lion-headed goddess, she is “Lady of Slaughter,” a powerful warrior whom the Egyptians feared.

Sekhmet is a powerful protector. A guardian of Egypt, a warrior of the sands, she is bloodthirsty and passionate, yet has the potential to be kind and caring as the mother lion for her cub.

My Journey to Sekhmet

Sekhmet is a goddess who has been in my consciousness for a long time, since she is somewhat well-known. I am drawn to both lions and violent gods and goddesses, so becoming interested in Sekhmet was not difficult. I am learning more about her aspects as healer and her relations with her devotees. She leaves the impression of healing through destruction.
